How'd you make the image? Dragon Block C mod while riding a pig?

    No; it's from Mowzie's Mobs...

I have to agree... I for one miss their legs having the old definition (skinnier at the base)...

The second update to the horses in the most recent snapshot seem to be slightly broken; have you seen the necks? They're calling not only the neck texture, but texture from the horses body currently. Funny, seeing saddle and armor bits in the neck on your tamed horses. xD

I hope this is a model issue and they don't change the texture again. Three texture updates for one mob is a bit excessive imho. It's also kind of annoying from a texture artist's standpoint if you're oh, trying to not look at broken mobs every snapshot but trying to keep up to date on MC.

Yeah. Why did they have to give this thing a frickin' llama neck?

Horse remodel was kinda unneeded, while everything else, well, was needed by everyone. So far, it's good!

Most of the time, it seems more sarcastic than serious, unless you missed the bit about dolphins being killable.

And why do sharks HAVE to be a common waterborne hostile mob? There's more original options, such as jellyfish, dolphins (After all, dolphins are among the few animals that kill for fun, and it would be easy to make hostile dolphins look like they're from a separate species), stingrays (Specially if Mojang want to make griefing swimming pools more fun), sea snakes, electric eels, moray eels, coelacanths, crustaceans of unusual size... There's a lot of options, even if only RL animals are considered (Specially as the game already has comparatively obscure flowers and Ocelots, which are pretty rare in fiction, which means that obscure animals can be used as well), to the point that using sharks as a hostile water mob would feel almost painfully uninspired (Specially coming from a game where ocelots can scare away human-sized walking exploding shrubs, there's flying fireball-shooting jellyfish, and there's an entire mushroom-themed biome).

The "reasoning" was most likely a sarcastic response. They most likely won't be rideable, but not due to some weird concerns.
Parrots can detect nearby mobs, practically acting as pseudo-short-range radars.

    Alright, makes sense.

Also, all of these ideas you offered aren't any better than sharks, mainly because they're all real-life animals. To be honest, sharks would make a terrible choice for a common ocean hostile mob for that same exact reason; I just think they'd be good to add because, well, we have neutral predators like wolves and bears, so why not have neutral sharks?

Stuff like Mob A or other mythical/made-up sea monsters would be really good as hostile sea monsters.

I'm just glad that sharks aren't going to be added, Guardians already fill that role for them.

Yeah, and Guardians are only seen around temples that you rarely ever find.

Mob A would have been a really good "common" ocean monster; it's a shame it got neglected in the poll

1 What behavior? I've read her Tweets, and it's nowhere near what you're saying.
2 Shark Fins are only used in Terraria to make potions and the Megashark. The shell is now a drop by a Solar Eclipse enemy.

Dolphins could be used to retrieve items from the water, as some sort of semi-automatic fishing rod. They could also be sea wolves of sorts... Be a bit creative, rather than assuming that dolphins NEED to be rideable or have an unique drop in order to be useful. After all, cats, parrots, and wolves are useful, but do neither.

Honestly, it's not that we care for rideable dolphins (well, at least I don't).

It's the bad reasoning that angers us.

As well as this, tamed dolphins lead you to treasure found in shipwrecks. They already made a use for it.

Finally, how are parrots useful? All they do is sit on your shoulder, mimic sounds, and dance to music boxes.

(Also, parrots need a better flying AI.)

After investigating her activity on Twitter, her behavior is... Apalling. I'm surprised Jeb and Nathan is letting this slide. (Then again I probably shouldn't be) It makes me wonder how Markus feels about this.

And a gun. A glorious, glorious gun. And a shell. That too. More if you're playing the Calamity mod like I have been.

Notch is now out of the picture.

Spiders are enemies and even if they are an overgrown aberration of nature i think they still qualify as animals,

They would make a nice challenge to moving from water to land, if they really want to discourage players to kill them then they could just make them drop nothing special.

Even though the game classifies spiders and cave spiders as monsters?

Just use a boat, problem solve.

Nobody cares about rideable dolphins. It's just her baloney reasoning that's triggering us.

    Quote from leonelmegaman»

Actually,Sharks would make good enemies to discourage players to just swim on large bodies of water and to start using boats as a way to travel on oceans.

The statements provided are weak for a feature that would be so interesting and benefit the game.

Sharks wouldn't really be good enemies, as they'd probably qualify as animals, which, according to Jeb, shouldn't be overtly hostile.

They still should be added in one way or another.

You see, each update that sounds awesome is just too good to be true. The recent updates haven't been anywhere near as good as they could have been.

Fun Fact: They actually removed the parrot-cookie thing, and are now using as an excuse to not add sharks.

Though it seems like this thread has a lot of support to you, to Mojang/Microsoft it does not. They could care less. They wouldn't mind if you stopped playing the game and never gave them another penny. The amount of people that have commented on this post is just a small fraction of those who are still playing the game and giving Microsoft money.

Did they remove the "killing them with cookies" mechanic?

Some News Somewhat Related To This:

It has been confirmed that dolphins will not be able to be ridden, as it would be "animal cruelty."

Now, I'm not too upset at this not being a feature for dolphins, but the reasoning is doltish in the same way as the no shark reasoning.

Same here. I don't care for rideable dolphins, but this is just stupid. How about riding pigs? How about killing farm animals for meat and leather? How about poisoning parrots with chocolate chip cookies, for the love of God!?

What next? Fish can't be caught because it's animal cruelty?

    Aw yeah, it's updated!

Kinda sad that the monkeys aren't drunkards anymore; I loved how they were back in 1.4.7.

Also, for some reason the hammerhead sharks don't have a swimming animation, and the marlin/schooling fish don't turn on their sides when stranded.

Anyways, I know spawn rates have always been an issue, but they seem to have hit this update really hard.

In the Wyvern Lair, I can barely find any bunnies, snakes, or wyverns. Guess what I can find? Everything else, even including hostile mobs.
