Let’s cut to the chase: I am TERRIBLE ad design. I can create structures that are functional, but the house I am trying to make isn’t going well. I need suggestions if I am going to salvage this with my pride intact.
As you've not indicated in what way you find the build lacking, it is unclear how it might be imporoved.
I actually rather like this…
It looks like you are trying to incorporate curves into a build roughly in scale with the player (ie doors are 1 wide & 2 high); given the size of a block (half a player height), this is exceedingly difficult to pull off.... Your result is as good as I think can be expected given that constraint.
The build pallet and decor are either charmingly minimalist or rather austere (depending on personal preference).
[A caveat to the above: I tend toward the functionalist end of the MC building spectrum.]

WARNING: I have an extemely "grindy" playstyle; YMMV — if this doesn't seem fun to you, mine what you can from it & bin the rest.
Of course I do well without even knowing how. Bloody typical. Shame that the minimalistic style wasn’t what I was going for...
I am most concerned with what I am going to do with the the area under the house (bottom picture of main post). I want to incorporate stone brick, but I have no ideas on how to make it unique. After that, I am not terribly fond of the wall facing the desert. Sure, it looks ok, but is is LONG. That only emphasizes the blandness. I’ve tried using other planks to give it some contrast, but I haven’t come up with anything I like. And lastly, I am concerned that the interior is just bland. That’s why I need help.
Some things I see wrong are that your roof needs an overhang on the ends of the building, and I'd also recommend placing upside-down stairs under those overhang, while you're at it. Just to be clear, don't put upside down stairs under your current overhangs. The side of your building with the glass wall looks good, but you need more details on the other side. You should experiment with windows, windowsills, maybe fence pillars, or other stuff. Don't use birch logs for the corners. Just use oak or another solid log.
For your bottom floor, with the glass looking into the water, change the walls to a single material (cobblestone or stone brick are what I recommend) or pattern, and change the floor to a wood or stone, don't leave it looking like you just mined it out. Maybe you were planning to do something like that though.
