Jan 11, 2011I don't think it's necessarily that bad of a thing. I don't recall him saying what he's going to use to make them, however. I think that you should definitely have them relatively early in the game, however. As long as torches last for a decent amount of time, (15 minutes would be plenty) there wouldn't be much of a problem.Posted in: Survival Mode

the .minecraft folder contains all the stuff that was there changing stuff for using 2 versions of MC, and it contains the minecraft(1) folder with contains the same files as the .minecraft folder right now.
the other situation is that the file has to be filled with a new Minecraft version.
And I'd like to know what the minecraft(1) folder is needed for, because It's content never gets used.
I don't think you understood the post at all. You might want to try completely rereading it. Not trying to offend you, but I can't really help.

Yeah, it works both holding C and pressing space. Obviously, if you cancel flight from the clouds, you'll still die, but touching down from a safe distance works fine.
Also, could I be a builder? IGN is Skarth.

I've already tried that. All I hear about it is "THE INTERNET IS FINE, YOU'RE JUST USING IT WRONG."
So there's no hardware improvements I can make?

Even better, it doesn't lag whenever I activate noclip, unlike the online one. The only lag I see at all is when I'm flying across the map so fast it doesn't have time to render.
Glad to hear it! I'm still having issues noclipping in singleplayer, for whatever reason.
Noclipping does cause a tremendous Freeze, but it still works for me. It'll freeze my client for a while, then become responsive again. It works fine in multiplayer, but it makes the graphics a little choppy. Doubt there's anything you can do about that, though.
One thing that's proven to be annoying to me is the way you die when you stop flying. Its like you're falling from your highest point. For example, if I stay low to the ground and drop, I'll only take a heart or two of damage. But if I go to the top of the map, lower myself down to an inch above the ground, and stop flight, I die. This is happening with both pressing C until I'm on the ground, and pressing spacebar.
Also, bump for a fantastic server.

Im plan on using Bryce 7 and Autodesk Maya PLE for the art, but am i allowed to use the art that i make in those programs in a card game that i plan on selling?
While I do not know what Bryce 7 is, you've stated that you're using modeling programs. As long as YOU make the art, the people who make the software can't do anything.
However, if you use things already included with the software, (I.E. samples or work you've downloaded) then they can take legal action.

Computers can't think, perse. While the robots are calculating that the logical thing for the humans to do would be welled up in a stronghold, they might really be setting up an ambush for them. Humans take risks, robots don't.
Jan 10, 2011Hey there, everyone. I've got a build that can easily handle a Minecraft server that's as large as I'll ever need, (Myself, my brother, and 3 friends) but I'm a bit concerned about my internet. It's relatively slow, I believe.Posted in: Computer Science and Technology
Unfortunately, I have no idea where to even start. Do I need to add a new part onto my Motherboard? Is it something that'd need to be integrated? Do I need to dump my ISP? (I wish I could, unfortunately, I can't convince my parents to.) I'm plugged into a Cisco E3000 and some terribly old modem. I'm just using a generic ethernet cable as well. I'm willing to spend probably $100 to improve my internet. Will that be enough to even get an incremental increase?
Thanks in advance,
Jan 10, 2011I believe that, eventually, there will be a robot takeover.Posted in: Computer Science and Technology
However, I also believe that it won't be a full takeover, perse. In thousands of years, when humans are living on hundreds of different planets, a revolution will start. Don't know how it's going to happen, but some ****'s going to go down. Robots are going to freak out, try to eradicate all humans, but eventually fail.
In the end, human ingenuity always wins.
