The new downlpoadable version is fantastic. Even better, it doesn't lag whenever I activate noclip, unlike the online one. The only lag I see at all is when I'm flying across the map so fast it doesn't have time to render.

posted a message on A Few Questions for Furries
I'd like to go ahead and make one thing clear: this isn't a troll thread. I don't want anybody trolling/raging. I know I haven't always been particularly nice to Furries, but I'm going to keep this civil.

Also, I'm going to warn you, I'm using the common furry here. I understand that some people may not fit this description. If you don't, just ignore this thread. And, please, don't lecture me on "that's not a furry." I've met plenty of furs before, and this is based off of that stereotype.

Question 1: What makes you guys turn everything furry?
I've been browsing around on DeviantArt a lot recently, and all I see is animalized things. Someone might just stick bunny ears on a popular video game character, or maybe change Obama into a wolf. Why? I like Minecraft, sure, but I don't go around turning everything into a block person.

Question 2: What's up with having your own "Culture"?
I do a lot online. I play 3 MMOs, (WoW, GW, WaR) frequently browse various forums and various chatrions, but no matter where I go, I ALWAYS see furry groups. Is there an issue with people who aren't furry, do you guys just find yourselves to be better, is it for the sole purpose of...uh...mating?

Question 3: Why are you proud of being furry?
I'm not saying that being furry is necessarily a bad quality, but I see a ton of furry pride. I like video games, but I don't make sure that it's my avatar, my signature, in my posts, and that everybody I know is aware of it.

Question 4: How many of you guys actually find animals (in their furry form) or your Fersonas sexually attractive?
I'm not going to make you answer this one if you don't want to, but I don't think my distinction of Furries and yiff-ers is correct.

I'm sorry if I offended anyone in here. These are genuine questions, not trolling attempts. I know a little of the wording probably made it seem that way, but there's not much I can do about that.

I haven't seen any lag, but I was just on it for any hour or two. I also have to ask, is the client downloadable anywhere? :|

    A) You're trying to steal accounts using that program, or
:cool.gif: You're trying to make users register for your server.

If you're trying to get users to register for your server, just add a whitelist.

It depends on what brand of giftcard. A lot of times you need to "register" it online. You should probably consult the people who made the card and ask how to use it for online purchases.

This is AWESOME! THANK YOU! :biggrin.gif:

But could you explain what excatly the batch script does?
because I noticed that after I ran it for the first time the .minecraft folder is completly empty, so where does the stuff move to?

All the bat script does is swap the two folders around. Once you create the minecraft(1) folder, you have to run the .bat, and launch the minecraft.exe. After that, you're good to go. If the .minecraft folder is already empty, just launch minecraft.exe and it'll automatically fill it up.

You need to name it. World1, world2, world3, world4, and world5 are all acceptable names. Anything else won't work.

posted a message on How do I stop a map from growing?
Hey, everyone. I've been trying to make a server to test TNT cannons with a few of my friends, but I didn't want the server to be very laggy. As such, I made it a 300x64x64 using MCEdit. The only problem is, when I get on, it automatically starts growing. Is there a way to prevent this? I know of an addon called Borderlands, but I'd prefer to keep the server Vanilla.

    Thanks in advance,
    Skart

posted a message on How to Use 2 Sets of Mods/Texture Packs/Etc
Hey, everyone. I wanted to run 2 versions of Minecraft: 1 with mods, and 1 without. So, I did a little research. I've come to the conclusion that the best way to do this is to use a .bat file to switch it. It's only 3 lines of code, and swaps them out flawlessly. When you're done with one, you can just hit it again, and it'll change to the first one.

Also, you only need 1 minecraft.exe. It'll automatically detect the currently running version.
    HOW TO DO IT:
    1. Download the client from http://minecraft.net/download.jsp
    2. Go to %\AppData%\Roaming\.minecraft, press ctrl+a, then press ctrl+c
    3. Create a new folder named minecraft(1)
    4. Go into that folder and press ctrl+v
    5. Open Notepad
    6. Copy and paste this:
    ren %appdata%\.minecraft minecraft(2)
    ren %appdata%\minecraft(1) .minecraft
    ren %appdata%\minecraft(2) minecraft(1)

    7. Save it as minecraftswitcher.bat (Or something similar, but you NEED the .bat)
    8. Click it to swap between
    9. Click it again to swap from modded to unmodded
    10. Click it again to reverse that

Unfortunately, these do NOT share the same maps. I could probably implement something that keeps them the same, but I'm not that good with computers.

IF YOU HAVE A MODDED VERSION AND WANT AN UNMODDED ONE:
    1. Rename %appdata%\.minecraft to minecraft(1)
    2. Download the client from http://minecraft.net/download.jsp
    3. Open Notepad
    4. Copy and paste this:
    ren %appdata%\.minecraft minecraft(2)
    ren %appdata%\minecraft(1) .minecraft
    ren %appdata%\minecraft(2) minecraft(1)

    5. Save it as minecraftswitcher.bat (Or something similar, you NEED the .bat)
    6. Click it to swap them
    7. Click it again to swap back
