posted a message on OpenGL Error
Okay, I've been seeing this quite a bit, and have been experiencing it myself. I've tried updating my drivers several times (as have you, and others) and it simply doesn't work.

I'm guessing this might be a problem on Minecraft's end, not ours..

posted a message on Villager Interaction With Buildings
With the introduction of villager interaction with each other and their houses, will spawned villagers interact with other spawned villagers, and houses created by the player? In other words, could you create an artificial village of sorts?

posted a message on Can't connect to Minecraft.net?
Okay, well, my minecraft.jar was FUBAR after I tried to mod it, so I just deleted it all and redownloaded, and now I just cannot connect to Minecraft.net. When I launch the client, I can't even see the news or any of that stuff, it's just grey space. I don't understand what the problem is.

Hmm, I think I get it, but what triggered Big Bang?

Ha, theories on that involve quantum mechanics that are above my head at the moment. I don't want to make a statement about it for fear of sounding like a fool, but to my knowledge, on the sub-atomic level, particles have been observed to simply pop in and out of existence.

But where did the anti-matter come from?

Nowhere. Again, if there were equal amounts of matter and anti-matter, the sum of all of it was equal to nothing, so it didn't have to come from anything or anywhere. It's easier to think of it in terms of simple mathematics, with the whole -1 + 1 example. A positive and a negative gives you zero. It's the same way with matter, and energy.

How all mass just appeared from nowhere, or has everything existed forever?

Right after the big bang, there were equal amounts of matter and anti-matter. Matter and anti-matter are, obviously, opposites, so they equal out to become zero, or nothing. Think of it like -1 + 1 = 0. It's the same concept, just with matter.

We actually see this all the time in physics: Two opposites can come from nothing. To use an easier example, think of a gun being fired. The total momentum of the bullet, the gun, and the person holding the gun is zero before it is fired, so when the gun is fired and momentum is created in the bullet, there needs to be "negative" momentum (momentum in the opposite direction) to even it out and make it possible. This negative momentum comes in the form of recoil.

And this concludes our physics lesson of the day.

Anyways, I find absolutely everything interesting about space. I hope to one day have a career involving space in some way.

posted a message on Weapons and armor made of a new material
I think it would be nice to give more material options for people that don't like to mine. An incentive for a hunter lifestyle, if you will.

For example, have a bear as a new mob, which drops bear bones, and bear hide. You can use the bones to reinforce stone tools, and the hides to reinforce leather armor. The drops could be rare, and the reinforced tools/armor could be equivalent to iron. I feel like this would be balanced, as iron isn't even that rare to begin with.

I'm less excited now that I know I'll probably have to wait for 1.9 to get all the good stuff :tongue.gif:

posted a message on What is your plan for 1.8?
Start a new world (obviously) and just roam a little bit. I want to find an ocean near a town, and do something I've never done before, make a giant Viking longboat as my base. Mainly I want to do this because I started a similar project on a server I was playing on, but the owner changed the map without warning before it was finished, and I've been itching to do it again. But I digress. I feel like the ship would be a good change of pace, and perfect for the new adventure map. After that, I'm not really sure. Just explore, I guess!
