Hmm, English 101 came in handy here. Your argument ad hominem does not prove you correct.
If this is important enough to you to write a second post maybe it is important enough to you to directly address me.

Typical college kid head bloat. Put your community college education to more constructive uses than trolling forums. By the way you learn about rhetorical devices in introductory philosophy courses not english courses you tw@.
I have little interest in taking you seriously so that's about all you're going to get out of me.

Your loss if you can't figure it out then. Looks like you DO ignore things in order to have arguments about nothing.

Do you have some kind of disorder that causes you to selectively ignore some things so you can argue for no reason? Don't lump me in with the riffraff.

For the same reasons; time saving and ignorance.

i remember on one of my first worlds after getting the game, there was lavas on the surface and this was before the update

i dont get what has changed or were my first world just weird lol

    x

sometimes a lava source would happen above ground and spill out the side of a mountain in the old version. I saw it many times myself. It was just rare to get lava above sea level because there is obviously not as much land mass to have lava get generated in above sea level.

Quote from Chris The Mushroom »
I was looking for one today, do they only appear in deserts?

the new lava springs and "pools" are randomly generated in any new chunk since the latest update. If you're on an old map you will have to go find some unexplored territory. It really isn't very rare.

I tried using this system with a double door. But for some reason the 2nd door & button combo you add will always stay in the opposite position of the 1st door & button combo (closed / open). It seems like no matter how or when you add the button or if the door is open or shut, the 2nd door always sets itself to be open when the other door is closed and closed when the other door is open. wtf? it makes no sense

yeah, you need to invert the charge to get the 2nd door to sync up

well if any of you agree with me that that is totally retarded, vote to have it fixed here on Mojang's bug/idea tracker:\
    http://getsatisfaction.com/mojang/topics/double_doors

    Quote from smurfsahoy »
Using this disables the option of attacking through the door. When you go up to the door to attack something on the other side, the door will open letting the enemy get to you. Although you could just go up to another floor and rain arrows on them.

So... it stops you from using a physics engine exploit to do ridiculous, impossible things like slashing a sword THROUGH the material fabric of a door to kill something?

My heart bleeds, believe me, but that does not make this a bad design.

you can vote to get this exploit attention and possibly fixed here:

yeah try planting a torch on each level of the dirt, grass will grow under torches. You could also create a sunlight well all the way down next to the stair (if you don't want to break the lightstone)

report back if it works I'd like to know.

Excuse my noobish question, but i'm quite new to minecraft, and I was wondering in which material you did make the stick holding your control chair, and what you did use to make the two planks on both sides of the same control chair.

    Cool design btw :smile.gif:

the sticks stacked are single fence posts. they don't normally stack, but if you make a column of dirt and replace the dirt with posts from the top down, they stack. the planks for chairs are signs with no text on them.

google minecraft crafting recipies if you want to see how to craft anything in particular

these large central trunks straight up to the top of the sky are largely superfluous and trees don't look or grow like that anyways

it would be much faster to start with a large low trunk and just start growing fields of saplings on top of each other than to branch out from a crazy pre-built trunk tower

unless you're purposefully spending many many hours to make a tree that looks like a 5 year old's drawing of a tree, then by all means keep up the good work

posted a message on How to make grass to grow on dirt ?
it needs to be within a 2 block distance of grass that already exists. if it isn't, make a dirt bridge to the nearest source of grass, light it with torches (for night time), and the grass will slowly grow from the source to the place you want new grass to grow. Also, you need to stay nearby to make sure the grass growing world chunk stays active. There is no other way.

posted a message on Question about half block positioning
    you cant do it.

you can make a double half block stone by dropping a 2nd half block on top of the 1st to get it level but there will never be a lone half block that isn't bottom aligned
